Awards:

I started playing Field Hockey this year and I fell in love with the sport. I worked hard to earn my spot as a starting Varsity player in my first choice position as forward. Field hockey has become a sport for me that my coach said I have a natural talent for. After working very hard during the school season, my current Adams Middle School coach recommended me to join  JVF Panthers Club Team due to my skill and being a team player. After the third practice the coach and Board of Trustees selected me as one of the captains for the season. Field Hockey has been a wild journey and I am along for the ride!

Awards:

An achievement that I am proud of is being the recipient of The Ethan Song Coaches' Award. This award is presented to a 7th grade player selected by the coach who has all the qualities of a true team player, highlighting their contributions to the Guilford lacrosse season. This award emphasizes not only athletic skill, but also the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. On my lacrosse team, I embodied the characteristics of a captain throughout the season. As a leader I must possess the ability of staying positive, even when we might be losing. It is mandatory for a leader to encourage their teammates to keep their heads high no matter the outcome. Building a positive team morale allows a team to perform better together. I strive to respect my teammates and the opposing team by showing good sportsmanship and integrity on and off the field. I pride myself on encouraging others and helping my teammates strive for their best even if they are struggling. Leading by example, I demonstrate the qualities of staying humble and kind bringing my team together as one. It is through these accomplishments that I was recognized with the honor of The Ethan Song Coaches’ Award. This recognition shows that all of my hard work paid off and it isn’t always about your athletic abilities but also about who you are as an overall team player.

I have been downhill ski racing competitively for the last four years. I travel to Massachusetts every weekend in the winter and stay at my grandparents house. I race for Bousquet Mountain Race Team in Pittsfield, Massachusetts where I compete in slalom and giant slalom. I am dedicated to the sport and I am always pushing myself to achieve success in my race time/placement. When participating in a individual sport like skiing, its you against the mountain. There are days when conditions are extremely challenging but you have to alter your mindset to conquer your fears.
